Here's an easy to prepare hearty meat dish.
- 1 1/2 lbs Steak
- 1/2 cup pearl barley
- 8 potatoes, peeled
- 3 parsnips
- 3 carrots, diced
- beef stock
- mixed herbs
- Place meat in a pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil.
- Add diced carrots, parsnips, herbs and seasoning.
- Simmer over moderate low heat for 20 minutes.
- Add peeled whole potatoes and beef stock.
- Simmer on low heat for 1 hour. Stir occasionally.
